I have had a netbook for about a year and a half and it’s almost completely unusable at this point. I’m not willing to get it fixed as it was cheap to begin with, and so I’m looking for a new computer.
I’d prefer to get a full size laptop, not a netbook at this point, though they are cheaper. And when I say budget, I mean $ 300-$ 450 max.
Can anyone recommend a decent laptop for this price?

Extended Warranties are based on the sales price of the item. If you’re buying the products at a big box store (like Best Buy) then expect them to ask you about their extended warranty that will cost more than it should.
Standard Coverage (everything that the Manufacture Warranty covers)
3 Year Coverage sales price under $ 1000 — $ 74.99
3 Year Coverage sales price under $ 2500 — $ 99.99
Diamond Service (covers accidental damage coverage).
3 Year Coverage sale price under $ 1000 — $ 159.99
3 Year Coverage sale price under $ 2000 — $ 233.99
When you compare the price of an extended warranty (especially the accidental damage coverage) and weight it against the price of the laptop it’s a very good thing to have. Also be sure to find out if the big box stores EW covers water damage! (If you plan on having your laptop pool side while you work this summer, make sure it’s covered.

dell inspiron 1550. Best performance and support. if you buy it, get it at www.costco.com they provide 3 year warranty. Plus if you do not like it, you can return it in 6 months.

I want to get a new laptop but I don’t know which one to get!
I plan to spend about €900 on it. 15.4 inch is the biggest i will get, ideally 13.3 inch widescreen. Lenovo’s Thinkpad x61s is perfect for me in every way (besides the outdated looks!) but its far too expensive ( over €1,500). Does anyone know of a good small laptop that has descent performance but yet isn’t too expensive? There isn’t much point spending €1,500 on a laptop when you will probably upgrade to a newer one in 2-3 years time!
