I was checking their site for prices, and the business computers seem to be a better deal. Is there something I’ll be missing if I opt for the business computer oppossed to the personal?

It’s been my experience that business PC’s, whether they are desktops or laptops, have fewer unnecessary apps on them than non business PC’s.

By unnecessary, I mean the trial MS office versions, MS Works, ISP offers, “free” trial games, etc.

What is the difference between a laptop that costs a few thousand dollars vs a laptop that costs a few hundred dollars? Do cheap laptops also have Youtube and Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint in them too?

I am thinking of buying a laptop but i don’t have enough money. So i am thinking of buying the cheapest laptop which costs a few hundred dollars.
But i am afraid that cheap laptops doesn’t have Youtube and Microsoft Word/Powerpoint/Excel in them.

If u just need it for Youtube, MS Office go for the cheap one.

difference between core i3 and corei5 laptop with same specs?

im getting a core i3 laptop, asus, and its within my budget, then i saw another laptop with exactly same specs, same graphic card, same ram same everything etc etc.except its core i5. both the one i want and the core i5 i saw was both 2.53 ghz, so whats the difference? how would the core i5 be better?

The i5 processor is better because it was designed for more heavy use, i.e. games and other heavy applications, while the i3 processor is designed for office use. (note: I answered with an i5 laptop)

What is the difference between, Laptops,Notebooks, and Net-books, or are they basically the same.

Laptops and notebooks are one and the same and have similar power and screen resolutions to regular desktop systems.

A netbook is generally a smaller device with a lower resolution screen that is geared more for browsing and email and not for running most applications.

okay…well is there anything i can buy that is as good as a laptop but smaller, lighter and under £300..

3 laptops will be connected to a DLP Projection TV with VGA in. I will need to be able to switch between them to display each at different times. Ideally the device would switch the audio feeds as well. Any ideas?

I need to update my security software on my laptop and my desktop. I thought buying a program that can be used on 2 computers would work. I got it to download on my desktop but it wouldn’t go on my laptop. Do I need software that specifies for laptop or should any of it work?

That would depend on how you’re using them and which processors you’re looking at. The Core i3-330UM and Core i3-380UM are both Ultra-Low Voltage processors, which operate at half the power (18W vs 35W) of the normal processors. So those will get much better battery life than the Sandy Bridge Core i3 processors (of which there is currently only one- the Core i3-2310M). On the other hand, if you’re maxing out the processors, they’ll all get the same battery life since they have the same power cap. The Sandy Bridge processor will just be about 15% faster. I suppose you could get a bit more battery life in the normal case, where the processor isn’t using it’s full capacity. I’m not sure it would be much because a good chunk of the power is for the screen and the graphics card, not the processor.

I am interested in a laptop desk from Bed Bath & Beyond. it has a light and everything and it’s made for laptops but i was just wondering if i could just use it as a desk to do do homework on.

You’re better off getting one from http://www.laptopdesk.net/. A regular lap desk won’t cut it. The ones on LaptopDesk also have cooling capabilities… It’s just better for your computer.
