150.00 or 200.00 is the starting bid there could even be a reserve i.e 400.00, by the end of the allot ed time frame they easily end up around 600.00 plus shipping, also some sellers have restrictions like you must have pay pal acct with minimum 10 buys at 100%, but yeah the stores you buy these from are overstocked and (usually) have no warranty with the manufactuer… not to mention the computers or equipment is usually last years models but i guess that really doesn’t matter good look ebaying…

they are usually refurbished or what is known as “b stock” items with no warranty. they have been repaired either by the manufacturer or a sublet

It could be that they had a surplus of these computers and so you are able to get them at a good discount…. or it could be a scam. People may be trying to hock off stolen goods or computers that have defects. Use caution.

When you look at laptops on the lower end of the price scale, I prefer Compaq. Acer is in a much flimsier case. Compaqs are much tougher. For the price of an Acer you can find a Compaq. I like wide screens the best. If you are going to get less than 1 GB of memory you should use windows XP. Vista runs slower on 512 MB. Vista also runs better on an AMD proccessor than it does on an Intel. If you want to edit video you need at least 2GB of memory. I just bought a Compaq Presario with an AMD Turion 64X2 TL 60 2 Ghz processor,
250 GB hard drive, 2GB memory, NVIDIA card, wifi, and a dual layer DVD Player and writer. For $ 529 at Best Buy. the more connection ports the better. At least 3 usb ports, ethernet ports and flash memory card ports like for SD cards.
This is my second Compaq and before this I had an Everex which was real cheap. I hope this helps

They make it cheap because duh, it’s used and all also when you buy something then you sell it you need to make the price by 1 third.

They are usually either scams or they charge an outrageous amount for shipping. Sometimes both!

The current bid oftern double or triple in the last 10 minutes. THis might be the reason. For instance I sold a laptop. 15mins before the end the highest bid was at 450$ . At the closing : 1000$ .

there is no good quality laptop there in the phils but if ever it is beyond your budget for sure. you should be careful of buying because most of the laptops or any gadgets are made in china or imitation only.
