Planning to get brand new laptop among Sony, HP and Dell? I would be going to UK in 2 weeks. Suggest me where could i get cheaper price and quality laptops

i. uk warranty will not cover india
unless you buy a high end model with global warranty

ii. uk prices are attrocious, post vat
i believe buying in india is cheaper than buying in uk
< vat paid is refundable, but procedure is pretty cumbersome >

iii. keyboard layout will be uk. india uses us keyboard layout

now mind telling us a little bit more on what / why you plan exact, so that we can tell you better

I was going to go to indianapolis university or purdue and they have discount on laptops and computers that are normally retailed at 1300+ on the dell website but i wanna know what the student discount would be.

We had one that lasted just over the 12 month warranty before the charger circuit on the motherboard failed. Gutted.

I’ve found plenty of deals on the dell factory outlet website, but i need to know whether the laptops there are refurbished, as im not willing to pay £350 for a refurbished laptop (the website states that they have been returned due to change in demand/over production etc). What is the general waiting time for delivery? Thanks a lot!

Yes most computers on that site are factory refurbished, which means is that they were used before, the person did not want it, so it got its outer casing replaced and all parts checked so it look and runs like new.

I think I have blown my laptop speaker . I plugged in some old speakers into the headphone socket and they crackled a bit then died.Since then the inbuilt laptop speaker doesn’t work and can’t use headphone either as the socket stopped working at the same time.

Would speakers plugged in through usb work? as a cheap solution.

Possibly. If its just the headphone jack that s faulty, it will work but if it is the laptop speakers, I’m not sure. As long as all the drivers are still installed, I think it should work.

I’ve been getting BSODs and such recently while playing graphic intense games, after about a year of trouble shooting and many yahoo! answers posts later i have figured out its all down to my video card overheating. I have cleaned the fans and propped it up on stands but this still doesn’t work so i have decided to invest in a laptop cooling stand. I dont wan’t anything to cheap but not to expensive, I have a 17″ laptop.

Does anyone have any suggestions??
BTW im British and it is a high end gaming laptop

Apart from custom duties what other expense will be there when we import…what is the rate for central excise for these products?
any thing else apart from import duty and central excise?

Every one coming to India can carry one laptop without any duty. It is over and above the free baggage limit.

I purchased a coach laptop sleeve that fits a 13″ laptop but it fits super loose and I hate the fact that there is so much room, I actually put my charger in there and it still has a ton of room on the top which makes it hard to actually carry the thing lol. I’ve searched for a louis vuitton piece but they only make it in the 13″ model and i feel as if i’ll be in the same boat. Any and all help would be great. Thanks
